A Blended Scotch Whisky is crafted from the 3 essential and apparently simple ingredients of grain, water, and yeast, but each must be of a high quality because all give the whiskey its ultimate character. WILLIAM PEEL is the unique result of the encounter of these simple ingredients which are shaped by the precise and painstaking expertise of our whiskey teams.
It all begins with the barley. The Malt whiskey process begins with the malting of the barley by soaking for several days in warm water to encourage germination. It is this malting process that allows the grain to develop its delicious flavors. As soon as germination begins, the grain is dried in a kiln to further concentrate the flavors.
Grain whiskeys are always made from blends that include other grains, such as wheat, corn, and rye.
