The Clavel family has worked their vines in the southern Rhone for many generations, dating back to at least 1640. Today it is Claire Clavel, with the support of her father Denis, who grows the grapes and makes the wine. The two wines in her “Clair de Lune” line are what Claire calls “Wines of Gastronomy.” The white is a 50/50 blend of Viognier and Roussanne; powerful, classy, and well-balanced, it offers flavors of ripe peach and pear and a pristine mineral finish.
